Page 1: Exploring Veterinary Curriculum Leadership

Introduction

This study is designed to explore the professional development and career paths that have been followed by current, recent and aspiring veterinary curriculum leaders in different global contexts.  We are defining curriculum leaders as individuals with academic responsibility for:

  • the delivery and development of their institution’s veterinary curriculum e.g. programme director, associate dean, and/or
  • the academic (co)leadership of a significant part of that curriculum e.g. assessment, clinical skills, year lead, pastoral leadership, leader of committees responsible for curricular management, review or change

We are exploring two key areas of curriculum leadership in this project:

  1. What factors have influenced your career decisions and progression; and
  2. What support and barriers you have experienced in your career to date.
